Decluttering part 2 – Wardrobe

Decluttering feels good!

And the sunny weather make making decision much easier.

declattering, wardorbe, decision, unleash your creativity, be inspired,

Even though the pile doesn’t look big – it made a big difference in my wardrobe and helped someone else.

When I cam across this old dress made based on Burda pattern – hmmm… I decided to keep it for a while. I like this swing dress – it is worth to give it a second chance/life.

Now there is even more space for creativity!

Classic Dress – Perfect Wardrobe Bulider

The time has arrived when I needed to add few new pieces to my wardrobe.

Few years ago I have made the dress – wearable muslin – based on the Vogue Pattern V8787.  I have made a version with asymmetrical neckline with left-side gather.

I had a beautiful marine blue crepe wool in my stash – perfect for this dress. I cut out the pattern pieces about a year ago (wow! time flies) and somehow did not feel like sewing.

The dress has silk organza as interlining and Venezia lining.

I am so glad I have finished it eventually! I enjoy every time I wear this dress.

This classic dress is a great wardrobe builder. Perfect to wear together with a French jacket or just a cardigan or on her own. RPT sleek glass jewellery match perfect with it.

I am sure I will use this Vogue Pattern V8787 many times.

Less than 1 meter fabric … no problem!

You have these moments when you see a piece of a fabric and immediately know what you want to make out of it.

That was exactly with this piece of a little stretch woven satin.  It was just enough to make this top with drape neckline. I used the Vogue pattern V9771.

Drape Neckline, Top, Vogue Patterns, V9771, sewcialists, sewing, making own cloths, minimalism

This is perfect top to wear with my pencil skirts or pants.

Both – front and back, are cut on bias thus no bust darts are needed.

This is pattern which you can easy make in one day and it is great wardrobe builder.

I cannot believe the May is already over. It is time for Me-Made-May’14 overview. I managed to keep to my pledge to wear a handmade item of clothing or jewellery everyday (and night).

This summer weather just calling to make more tops. I have seen a lot of tops made of the Marfy 1913 pattern and as this one is on my list for some time – I have decided to make it. I have just finished the pattern putting together. Now I have to pick up a nice fabric from my stash.

Knitted project accomplished!

It was long ago I was knitting and I forgot how relaxing it is. There are the lot of you knitting fabulous garments. It is a great inspiration.

Just before the Christmas I have seen this pale pink yarn and as my mother wanted to have a cap I have bought it. It is the simplest pattern to make and I wanted such for start.

I hope it will fit my mother – I have to send it to her as there is a cold winter in Poland.

I was missing something today…

Yes, I cam home and I was definitely missing something… oh, yes… I did not have to take a picture, there is no one on Flicker with new outfits for this day, Me-Made-May is over … Bedroefde emoticon

Before I started blogging I have been reading stories about MMM from previous years – all great stories, experiences, seeing all great garments, creations, pictures…

So when May came I did not think a second – I have just joined the all Me-Made-May-Madness – as someone called it on the internet Glimlach

First things first – Zoe, you are a star! Thanks a lot for organising this wonderful challenge!

What was Me-Made-May for me? Absolutely fabulous experience.

So many creativity! Even bad weather did not stop it… yeah… the weather was disappointing – I had to dig out autumn/winter garments. Pity my summer dresses had to wait.

MMM 2013 and my business trip

For the fist time I was packing for my business trip with greater concentration then usually.

I had to take into account not only number of days, the weather, meetings, dinners, social activities but the Me-Made-May 2013 challenge as well.

Herewith a summary of my MMM2013 wardrobe during this trip.
Additionally I had to remember to take pictures. They are not so good – taken by phone in a hotel room at the mirror … But here they are:

Just before leaving to the airport 9th May – I am wearing my dark blue jacket (Simplicity 4991) from boiled wool and top based on Jalie pattern 2682:
