Stripes series

With so many ideas it is difficult to stop making new items in the HotPot.

As a result it was too late to take photos during the daylight. Fortunately Meisje has approved the setting so I was feeling much better :-).

At the end of the session both lamps refuse to work.  I will have to buy new LEDs or Halogen lamps… I have to check first.

Now only …. hmmm, only  … descriptions and I will upload the new items to Etsy shop.
I like this colour combinations and way the glass stripes fused in the HotPot creating surprising effects.

Sunny weekend – Etsy order on the way

Yesterday a package with jewellery boxes has arrived – just in time for sending my first order. What a timing Knipogende emoticon

First Etsy order Etsy sending First Etsy order Etsy sending

It is a box made of black and read cardboard with 2 black foam-inlays. It looks really luxury and the colours suites to my logo.
The size is 120 x 90 x 120 mm. There are a special openings in the foam so it is easy to place there a necklace, earrings or a broche.

The company Wilhelm & Kling bv offers possibility of printing a company name on the cover (or inside the cover) – maybe something for the future.

I could prepare a nice package for my first new customer – to make sure that it will arrive save. I enjoyed it very much.

And then to the envelope and the post office!

When I was back at home it appeared I forgot to put a copy of an invoice inside … hmmm… I have to make some checklist.

I have sent a confirmation to the customer and I started to work on new items. It was a very sunny Saturday so you work with pleasure.

Last Wednesday I moved all equipment and supplies for making fused jewellery upstairs …

Glass Fusing - new placeGlass Fusing - new place

and I see I have to speed up with sewing to have more space for glass fusion supplies.
I have to make it easy to clean up when I need this cutting table for my fabrics.
It will be a challenge.

Meanwhile I have made 3 pendants

and 2 earrings.

I will add finding to all items and take photos tomorrow – with nice daylight.

I have to work on the good schedule for my week so I could enjoy sewing and glass fusing activities equally.

HotPot weekend workshop

It was a very nice weekend. Together with my friends we enjoyed  the last winter days and fabulous surrounding. The small village Ee – in the north of the Netherlands – is picturesque .

It was really cold so we took only short walk which was enough to take few photos.
The nature is very creative…

On Saturday we started with glass fusion in the HotPot. It was difficult to stop…the HotPot is really addictive.

There was a lot of issue with this turquoise and chartreuse green glass – it was not possible to fuse it with other sort glass and a lot of pendants were broken after cooling. What a pity – such a beautiful colours.
So we went on with ‘safe’ glass Knipogende emoticon.

I have enjoyed company and being in Ee again. We have to repeat it some day…

HotPot weekend workshop in Ee

Once a year a group of friends is having a weekend in Ee (Friesland, The Netherland). Ee, Friesland, The Netherland - holiday house

There is a very old farmer house which is converted to ‘holiday house’ – with a swimming pool, sauna, place to play for children, horses, etc.
I was there few times with them – years ago, and this time I was invited to join them again.

I was so enthusiasts that I was already week earlier – I put incorrect date in my agenda Emoticon met brede lach  When I arrived it was dark, silent and empty. The owner opened the door – surprise even more then me – asking who am I looking for? I looked inside recognising the place but there was no-one. At first I though they all are swimming or went for some play in nearby city… no. I was one weekend too early.

During the stained glass workshop my friends were so inspired that we agreed to have a HotPot workshop to make a jewellery in Ee.

So next week I will pack (again) all pieces of glass, a microwave, all needed tool and other things and head north.
Knowing my friends I expect a lot of creativity and fun. I will place few photos after this workshop.

Meanwhile I am fusing more and more items. It is fun but I feel I am missing sewing. I have to find a balance.

Herewith my last creations – all on Etsy Knipogende emoticon

Probably too many Knipogende emoticon.

It was a busy weekend … all because of the HotPot.

HotPot adventure follow up

So today I was planning to finish my jacket and dress – but guess what – I was fusing the glass Knipogende emoticon .

Besides for my dress I needed a buckle so I was thinking of making one from the glass.

The first one I have made was a little too big and my fabric did not went through…

Some of the pendant will have silver-plated bails so it will be possible to hang them on a cord or a chain.

The below set of glass beads will be joined in one necklace.

The below set of fused glass pieces will be a pendant and earrings.

Now it is time to go back to reality …

HotPot adventure

Yesterday we have bought a HotPot! Yuppie!

HotPot adventure

Already yesterday evening I started step by step fining my way around it.

HotPot adventure

… which did not finish without some small issues… oooops! Definitely we have to change the table cloth.

I have to say that the book ‘Glas Fusen in de HotPot’ by Yolanda Van Den Herik is explaining very detailed first steps for beginners, it is full of tips and tricks and good advises.

HotPot adventure
Of course we have a lot of different pieces of glass – so immediately I picked up some and tested the glass fusion method.

I could buy tested glass plates but it would be less fun…

I was checking the process of smelting the glass in the HotPot… it was hot!

HotPot adventureHotPot adventure

It was important to test different glass combinations …

HotPot adventureHotPot adventure

I have bought as well a small bag with Baoli Millefiori pieces – it is real fun!

HotPot adventureHotPot adventure

Min punt of the whole process is that as the HotPot is small (it fit in a Microwave) I could make only one or two pieces at the same time and then wait for one hour. The fused piece need to cool down slowly in the the HotPot first.

I love glass fusing – you never know how it’s going to turn out!
