De Cirkel van Kleding

De Cirkel van Kleding (Dress Circle), a conceptual artwork van Pet van de Luijtgaarden – will soon be seen at de beeldentuin (the sculpture garden) of the Kröller Müller Museum, located in National Park De Hoge Veluwe in Otterlo (NL).

(Picture taken from the project website)

“British research shows that a woman holds 2,400 garments throughout her life. The circle, which takes the form of a clothesline, symbolizes the process of life from birth to death. 120 designers, artists and individuals get started with 2,400 white, pink and red garments up-cycling. Used clothing and all kinds of objects collected by the artist will become a large installation .
The Kröller-Müller Museum is attracted by the “ideology” of the project, which is a playful and accessible way the contemporary phenomenon of overconsumption raises.”

Working on new stained glass jewellery

Well… we needed to relax as well and do other things. While my husband is busy with the stained glass panels I am working on new stained glass jewellery – pendants, earrings and necklaces.

To make work easier we upgraded our atelier with new equipment, such as cutting mate, circle cutter and copper foil roller.

And the most important – different kind and colours of stained glass …

I have already started cutting the stained glass in different forms and puzzle with these pieces…

Home improvements–follow up

Once my husband had made a stained glass panel which we placed in the door. We liked the idea and we decided to make 2 more for other doors.

One stained glass panel is already finished by my husband …

As it is laying on brownish plate the colours look a little strange.

Next step is to place it to a door… hopefully it will fit Knipogende emoticon.
