Looking for a unique fabric? Design it yourself!

During the Stoffenspektakel (fabric market) I came across a new stand of Belgium company Design On Textile.

Design on Textile is a Belgian company specialized in online textile printing that makes it possible to express one self. Framed prints on fabric – Own fabric designs – may not be new, but what is new is that you can already order from a meter of your own fabric.

Design On Textile prints your designs on textiles of your choice. In a few simple steps you can upload your designs, print them on a fabric, and even earn money by selling your designs.

How it works? Very easy! Go to the website, upload your own design, choose the fabric, pay online and two weeks later you design is delivered to your home address.

This immediately raises all sorts of ideas: custom table cloths and napkins , a blouse or dress with a self-designed pattern, a favourite photo on T-shirts or pillows. The possibilities are endless! So when you look for a unique fabric you may design it yourself .

What’s more through Design on Textile you can share your design with others and when it’s use by others you will earn 10 % commission!

You may choose from several types of basic fabrics to be printed, which are suitable for both apparel and interior. These fabrics are of the highest quality and can be machine washed. The basic fabrics are:

  • interlock viscose (knitted, stretch) used for t-shirts, skirts,
  • voile cotton – perfect for scarfs,
  • satin cotton – beautiful for dresses,
  • poplin cotton – good for dresses, shirts and bedding
  • twill cotton suitable for trouses, jackets, curtains.

The online tool provided by the Design On Textile contains various colour management tools that help you create your design.

I think I will try it one day. As I wrote – the possibilities are endless.

Oh great to know! Same as Spoonflower (ish), but on our continent. Will have to bookmark their page!

I saw them too at the stoffenspektakel and while the idea is pretty similar to spoonflower I like it that this one is on our side of the pond. Much easier with customs, tax etc. within the EU
