The weekend started with the leakage of the heating system. We knew there is something somewhere wrong as the pressure in the system was still going down and we needed to add water to the system. Then I have discovered a small hall in the pipe leading to a radiator.
So Friday the whole in the floor was made and the pipes were changed – fixed. Hopefully no more surprised from the heating system site this winter.
Saturday I was planning to go to a meeting of Sancho Club (sewing hobby club) but on the last-minute we decided to have short holidays – we rent a camper.
As I have a meeting this week in France we decided to spend there some days off. My husband and his son left already and I will join them on Saturday.
However as a result I spent Saturday on packing, shopping, washing – until the washing machine refused to work. I hope tomorrow a specialist will come to repair the machine so I can finish washing.
I was not feeling so well so I only managed to finish the Vogue Vintage jacket during the weekend. I still need to make closing. I was so in hand sewing that in the end I have forgotten to make a bounded button-hole before catch stitching everything.
The jacket has underlining from cotton batiste and is lined with polyester satin (I think – I have found this fabric in my stash – just enough for lining).
While working on this jacket I realised that it is a great pattern for a jacket/cape to make from boiled wool – double right sites. I am going to put this pattern as made-to-measure / made to order in my web-shop.
As my photo camera is in France together with my DH I will take better pictures of the finish jacket when I am back.
Now when this vintage jacket is ready I can in the end concentrate on a French jacket. I don’t think I will manage to finish it before leaving for holidays – pity.
